The cattle enterprise entered a new and exciting phase in 2014 with the establishment of our purebred Limousin Cattle Stud. Limousin cattle originate from France and have been used in Australia since 1971.
The Marist Commercial Herd uses 3 breeds – Limousin, Angus, Shorthorn – in a tri-yearly synchronised breeding program to achieve optimum muscle and fat specifications for the domestic butcher market – and growing steers on for both the feedlot and export market.
